Since last year the Open Doors with the Mouse event from WDR has also included soldering workshops, lead by Timo from the Binary Kitchen (who also designed the badge soldering kits), among others.
The Munich Haecksen have already hosted several soldering workshops and have a good rapport with the Binary Kitchen, so they wanted to also participate this year. They registered a “door” under the name “Soldering Workshop” and on the third of October we opened our door to kids that wanted to learn to solder.
There were 10 places available for preregistration, and all of them were filled. Two groups of 5 kids each, ranging in age from 8 to 14 years old, successfully and without injury (on the kids part) soldered 9 Elephant soldering kits and one Mouse soldering kit. Only one father was grazed by a soldering iron in the heat of battle. At the end of the day every child was able to bring home their own blinking badge.
It was a successful day and the µC³ and the Haecksen look forward to welcoming you again next year.
